Kendra Harder ยท How Can He Live Without His Euridice (Orphues and Eurydice...ish)
Synopsis: This is the classic story of Orpheus and Eurydice only without Orpheus and without the majority of the major plot points. Two singers arrive for their first rehearsal of “Orpheus and Eurydice” each with strong opinions of who they are and what, exactly, they’ve come to do. Their ages, realms of experience, and how they handle their egos diverge wildly between them before they face up to real – and embarrassing – consequences.

Orpheus and Eurydice...ish is the first collaboration between Harder & Telford. It was commissioned for the 2017 Strata Festival of New Music in Saskatoon, SK.

Instrumentation: Two sopranos, piano and wind septet
A piano vocal version has been created thanks to the SK Arts Independent Artist Grant.

Duration: 22'

Premiered June 2017 at the Strata Festival of New Music at Convocation Hall, Saskatoon, SK by Little Opera on the Prairie
