This piece was commissioned by Charmaine and Joseph Taylor for their niece as a graduation present. When asked when she would like the piece to be finished, Charmaine specified a week from then. Knowing that it would take much longer to write this commission, Kendra replied "... it won't be ready next week." This is where to the title comes from.
This piece was written using a modern composition practice of eliminating the constraints of key signatures and time signatures. By doing this, the melody and harmony are able to flow more freely. Elements of Chopin's music have been employed in this pieces, such as lines falling in parallel sixths, and the use of sevenths and ninths as non-tendency tones.
This piece is available for purchase with the permission of the commissioner.
